Privacy Policy

The following applies to Africa Analysis Team (Pty) Ltd (“Africa Analysis”), its subsidiaries and services rendered by it.

We reserve the right to change this statement and will provide notification of any material change at least thirty (30) days prior to the change taking effect. You may contact us with any questions pertaining to this policy at dobek@africaanalysis.co.za.

Collected Information

In the subscription registration process, we collect registration information from our user that includes:

  • Name, user name and password
  • Contact information such as email, address and telephone number
  • Billing information

Each of these different types of information is used to provide services from the Africa Analysis website. Registration information is used to authenticate users and assign their subscription content access policies. Contact information is used to provide information on Africa Analysis service updates and communicate Africa Analysis events. The billing information is used to charge for our services.

In the operation of the Africa Analysis service, we collect and store user information that is the raw data input into the Africa Analysis subscription registration process, and also certain user information to authenticate the subscription access profile.

All user information provided in the registration process will remain your property. Africa Analysis will continue to make that data available to you through the Africa Analysis platform as long as you are a subscription user. Please consult the Terms of Usage Agreement as well as this policy to understand your rights and responsibilities as a subscription user of the Africa Analysis services.

If, at some point, Africa Analysis sells all or a portion of its assets, or merges with another entity, user information is an asset that may be transferred or acquired by a third party. We will notify all affected users of any such transaction and, consistent with our privacy promises, users will have the opportunity to retrieve their user information and cease usage of the Africa Analysis services. After such a transaction, the third party that becomes the custodian of the user information would have the right to continue using the user information solely as set forth in this policy.

Africa Analysis may also collect and analyse certain visitor and user information regarding the use of the Africa Analysis services and website activity. Information collected may include, but is not limited to, website traffic volume, frequency of visits, type and time of Africa Analysis service usage, type of browser and operating system, etc. This information is logged to help diagnose technical problems, administer the site, and improve the quality and types of service delivered. We may provide non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information derived from the actions of our visitors and customers to third parties in order to demonstrate the value we deliver to users. We must comply with laws applicable in rare circumstances requiring disclosure of data to law enforcement authorities or third parties.

Other than as disclosed in this policy, Africa Analysis will not sell, rent or share any user data with third parties in personally identifiable form without your express permission.

Cookies

Africa Analysis may use cookies to assist in delivering the service and to provide a positive and personalised user experience. Cookies are files sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Our persistent and session ID cookies are used to identify unique visitors to our sites and to provide you with easy access to your files.

Third Party Sites

Africa Analysis services may contain links to multiple third-party sites on the internet, including many that have different privacy and security policies and practices than Africa Analysis. Africa Analysis makes no representations or warranties about the policies and practices of sites that are linked to by Africa Analysis or its users. We urge you to consult the policies available on those sites to further understand your rights. Africa Analysis will never sell, rent or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes without your express permission.

Security

Africa Analysis has implemented processes designed to protect user information and maintain security. Each subscription user is assigned a unique user name and password which is required to access their user information. It is the user’s responsibility to protect the security of their login information. Africa Analysis uses managed servers located in secure server environments. Firewalls and other advanced security technologies are employed to prevent interference or access from outside intruders. These safeguards help prevent unauthorised access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of data.

Accessing, Correcting and Revising Registration and Contact Information

If you need to update or change your registration information, you may do so by editing your user record on the Africa Analysis service.

If you choose to cancel your subscription and leave the Africa Analysis service, please be aware that Africa Analysis may for a time retain residual information in our backup and/or archival copies of our database. We will make reasonable commercial efforts to delete your information as soon as possible after you communicate that intention to us.
